The prime minister’s offer for negotiations still stands, and talks can take place if the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf ends its long march, according to the prime minister's adviser, Rana Sanaullah.

ISLAMABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 6th Oct, 2026) Rana Sanaullah stated that all institutions and provincial governments should unconditionally support every decision taken by the Federal government in its war against terrorism. He further urged the PTI to do the same.

Rana Sanaullah clarified that the government had never forbidden PTI from meeting with Imran Khan. Instead, he explained, the government requested PTI to act responsibly and back the government and Pakistan while assuring them that issues regarding meetings with Imran Khan, his medical treatment, and his personal doctor would be resolved.

The prime minister's adviser attributed the lack of progress in talks to PTI's disagreement with the government's policy on the war against terrorism and their opposition to its implementation.

He reiterated the prime minister’s offer of talks, stating that negotiations could commence if PTI ended its long march. He claimed that even a month-long march would exhaust PTI, and their current numbers were not capable of marching on Islamabad. Furthermore, he noted that PTI had previously resigned and attempted to dissolve provincial assemblies, suggesting they could do so again.

Rana Sanaullah also mentioned that Maulana Fazlur Rehman stood with the government and Pakistan's armed forces in the war against terrorism, and that the government maintained communication with him.
