IHC Approves Amendment To Judicial Service Rules
ISLAMABAD, (APP – UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 8th Sep, 2026) The transfer of judges of the Islamabad district judiciary to other provinces has been facilitated following approval of amendments to the Islamabad Judicial Service Rules, 2011.
The Chief Justice of the Islamabad High Court approved the amendments on the recommendation of the court’s administrative committee, according to an official notification.
Under the revised rules, the transfer of district judiciary judges is now under the administrative control of the Islamabad High Court. The amendments provide for:
- Transferring judges to the jurisdiction of other high courts.
- Posting judges to provincial district judiciaries under a rotation mechanism.
A gazette notification regarding the amendments has been issued. The Registrar of the Islamabad High Court has also forwarded copies of the amendments to the presidents of the Islamabad High Court Bar Association and the District Bar Association.
