On the directives of Deputy Commissioner (DC) Dr Faisal Saleem, the district administration launched a grand operation against encroachments at Chowk Kumharanwala, MA Jinnah Road and Nangana Chowk on Wednesday.
The operation, led by Assistant Commissioner City Mukarram Sultan, resulted in the demolition of illegal structures and seizure of encroachment material. Heavy machinery was used to remove sheds, kiosks and raised platforms occupying public spaces and obstructing roads. PERA Force personnel, Municipal Corporation teams and machinery from relevant departments participated in the operation as part of a coordinated drive to clear public spaces and improve traffic flow.
Deputy Commissioner Dr Faisal Saleem stated that the anti-encroachment operation would continue uninterrupted to facilitate citizens and ensure wider, obstruction-free roads. He further mentioned that PERA Force has been assigned the task of conducting daily anti-encroachment operations to provide relief to the public and maintain a better civic environment in the city.
