LAHORE, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 22nd Sep, 2026) The family of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf founding chairman Imran Khan has strongly condemned the alleged police raids on the homes and detention of his sisters:
Aleema Khan, Uzma Khan, and Noreen Niazi. They provided details of the incident and alleged harsh conduct to the media.
According to a statement issued by Imran Khan’s family, Aleema Khan left her home in Lahore at 9 a.m. on September 20th for personal work but did not return. Her vehicle was later found outside Mazang Police Station around 1 p.m. The family learned through media reports that she had allegedly been taken from the vehicle and detained under 3 MPO.
At approximately 6 p.m., police armored vehicles surrounded the streets near Aleema Khan’s house, causing severe distress to children and others in the home. Around 1:30 a.m., more than 200 police officers allegedly raided the house and detained three members of the staff.
The family further claimed that police entered Uzma Khan’s home, breaking down the bedroom door before taking her into custody. Noreen Niazi, Sakina Niazi, Shahreiz Khan, Sher Shah Khan, and Azeem Khan were also allegedly detained and transferred to a police van. During the operation, two girls aged 2 and 7 were reportedly picked up, while the home’s CCTV cameras and DVRs were damaged.
The statement said that the detainees were taken to Chuburji Police Station. Uzma Khan and Noreen Niazi were subsequently transferred to jail, while the remaining individuals were dropped back at their homes. The family alleged that police behaved aggressively and insultingly throughout the operation and received abusive instructions for making the arrests.
They added that lawyers and family members have not yet been allowed to meet Aleema Khan, Uzma Khan, or Noreen Niazi.
