Imran Khan's Life Faces Serious Threats, Says Aleema Khan

Rumors about his deteriorating health, irregular blood pressure, and mental stress are being spread on social media, along with fake AI-generated images and videos, according to the former prime minister's sister.
Aleema Khan, sister of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founding chairman and former prime minister Imran Khan, has expressed grave concern over her brother’s well-being and safety at Adiala Jail, leveling serious allegations against the government and jail administration.
In a statement on social media, Aleema Khan stated that Imran Khan's life is currently facing serious threats. She claimed he was in good health before being placed in solitary confinement in October 2025. However, by the end of December, his vision in one eye began to deteriorate. Despite repeated notifications to the jail superintendent, no doctor was provided for two weeks, causing permanent damage to his eye, according to a subsequent medical confirmation.
She accused those monitoring the jail's CCTV cameras of criminal negligence as they were aware of the situation but failed to act.
Since July, rumors have circulated online about Khan's health issues, including irregular blood pressure and mental stress. Additionally, fake images and videos generated through artificial intelligence have also been shared. Aleema Khan stressed that Khan hasn't lost his courage or backed down from his position despite hardships, after which this false narrative about his physical and mental well-being was created.
On August 18, 2026, the Supreme Court ordered Imran Khan be transferred to Shifa International Hospital for an independent medical examination in the presence of Dr. Uzma Khan and Dr. Faisal Sultan. Despite a deadline of August 20, the order remains unfulfilled, leading Aleema Khan to announce peaceful protests with two demands:
- Imran Khan should be immediately transferred to Shifa International Hospital as per the Supreme Court's ruling.
- Islamabad High Court Chief Justice Sarfraz Dogar should either provide immediate justice on the pending bail applications in the Al-Qadir Trust and Toshakhana cases or recuse himself from the matters.
