India Pursuing Settler-colonial Agenda in IIOJK to Alter Kashmiri Identity: APHC
ISLAMABAD, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 7th Sep, 2026)
The All Parties Hurriyat Conference (APHC) has stated that India is systematically laying the groundwork for settler colonialism in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK), and that this policy poses a serious threat to the region’s indigenous population, culture, and political identity.
Advocate Abdul Rashid Minhas, a spokesman for the APHC, said in a statement that India’s colonial occupation of IIOJK began with the illegal landing of its troops in Srinagar on October 27, 1947.
According to Minhas, colonization of IIOJK has long been a key agenda of the RSS-BJP combine. He claimed that the Modi regime is establishing colonial settlements in IIOJK, mirroring Israel’s occupation of Palestinian land. The APHC argued that the revocation of Article 370 removed legal barriers to non-local settlement in IIOJK, and that granting residency rights to non-locals is aimed at altering the region’s demographic composition.
