An Indian fan noted that the young opening batsman had achieved more at 15 than Pakistan's Saim Ayub had managed even at 25.
During the Asian Games 2026 final, Ayub celebrated dismissively after taking the wicket of India's 15-year-old Vaibhav Suryavanshi, who scored just 15 runs off 9 balls. The Pakistani all-rounder made a 'baby cradle' gesture toward Suryavanshi.
This celebration enraged Indian fans, who expressed their anger on social media. Many fans felt Ayub should have shown more respect for a young player achieving so much at such a tender age.
One Indian fan on 'X' (formerly Twitter) even suggested that Ayub could learn batting from Suryavanshi. Another fan pointed out the irony, stating that the young opener had already accomplished more at 15 than Ayub had at 25.
While Ayub took Suryavanshi's wicket, he conceded 47 runs in his four overs, as India posted a formidable 211 for 6 in 20 overs, led by Abhishek Sharma and Tilak Varma's half-centuries. Pakistan ultimately lost the match by 19 runs while chasing the target.
