Indian Forces Given Free Hand To Kill, Arrest Kashmiris In IIOJK: APHC
ISLAMABAD, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 18th Sep, 2026)
The All Parties Hurriyat Conference (APHC) has stated that the BJP-led Indian government has granted Indian forces deployed in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK) complete freedom to conduct extrajudicial killings of Kashmiri youth in staged encounters and make arbitrary arrests under draconian laws during cordon and search operations.
According to Kashmir Media Service, APHC spokesperson Advocate Abdul Rashid Minhas, in a statement issued in Srinagar, strongly condemned the killing of two youth by Indian troops during an operation in Udhampur district. He claimed that since August 5, 2019, Indian forces had martyred over 1,000 Kashmiris in IIOJK, most of them young people, while thousands more have been arrested under laws such as the Public Safety Act (PSA) and the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA).
Mr. Minhas stated that Indian forces are killing innocent Kashmiri youth in staged encounters to gain promotions, medals, and rewards. He claimed that India has granted its forces operating in IIOJK extensive legal protection under the Armed Forces (Special Powers) Act (AFSPA), which shields them from legal repercussions for their actions.
The APHC spokesperson accused India of attempting to intimidate Kashmiris demanding freedom through ongoing killings in IIOJK. However, he added, the Kashmiri people remain steadfast in their pursuit of freedom and are determined to honor the legacy of their martyrs.
The APHC appealed to the international community to play its role in halting the killing of innocent Kashmiris by Indian forces in occupied Jammu and Kashmir and resolving the Kashmir dispute according to United Nations resolutions and the aspirations of the Kashmiri people.
