Industrial Production Grows by 3.03% in July
ISLAMABAD, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 16th Sep, 2026) The output of Large Scale Manufacturing Industries (LSMI) witnessed a significant 3.03% increase during the month of July 2026 compared to the same period last year, according to the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS).
Monthly and Yearly Comparisons
On a month-on-month basis, LSMI’s production in July 2026 surged by 9.51% when compared with June 2026.
The provisional quantum indices of LSMI for July 2026, using 2015-16 as the base year, were derived from the latest data provided by various sources.
Industry-wise Growth and Decline
The growth was primarily driven by:
- Textile (-0.53)
- Garments (3.87)
- Petroleum Products (0.11)
- Cement (0.36)
- Automobiles (1.91)
- Furniture (0.18)
Meanwhile, the following sectors experienced a decline:
- Food (-0.84)
- Beverages (-0.45)
- Tobacco (0.55)
- Chemical Products (-0.50)
- Pharmaceuticals (-1.24)
- Iron & Steel Products (-0.47)
