ISLAMABAD, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 28th Sep, 2026)

The Islamabad-Peshawar Motorway (M-1) has been reopened to all types of traffic in both directions, according to the National Highways and Motorway Police (NHMP).

Additionally, the M-14 Motorway from Hakla to Kot Belian and from Isa Khel to Yarik have also been reopened. However, restoration work on the section between Kot Belian and Isa Khel is still ongoing.

NHMP spokesperson revealed that restoration work is also in progress on the loop connecting M-1 with the Hazara Motorway. Traffic from Islamabad to Abbottabad via M-1 can exit at Burhan Interchange, use the GT Road through Hasan Abdal, and rejoin the Hazara Expressway at Jhuri Kas Interchange.

The N-5, or GT Road, between Islamabad and Peshawar has also been reopened to all traffic.

The NHMP recommends drivers obtain the latest traffic information via the Motorway Police helpline 130 or their official social media handles.
