Jamieson Crowned Closing Swing Champion on DP World Tour

DUBAI (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News / WAM) - Scotland’s Scott Jamieson ended a 14-year wait to claim his second DP World Tour title, securing victory at the Nexo Championship at Trump International in Aberdeenshire.
Jamieson's triumph, which also earned him the title of Closing Swing Champion, comes as the season enters its final stretch, with events in Abu Dhabi and Dubai set to conclude the "Race to Dubai" in November.
On the final day, Jamieson carded a 67 to finish the tournament 11 under par. With 585 points, he climbed 93 places to 42nd in the latest Race to Dubai Rankings, accumulating a season total of 802 points.
The 42-year-old's strong performances in the Closing Swing earned him an additional US$200,000 bonus, bringing his total prize money for the weekend to over US$700,000.
This marks Jamieson's 421st appearance on the DP World Tour.
The event also highlighted Adrian Otaegui's progress, as the UAE player secured a tied 16th place finish, moving up three places to 32nd in the Race to Dubai Rankings with 891 points.
Top 70 players in the Race to Dubai Rankings qualify for the DP World Tour Play-Offs, starting with the Abu Dhabi HSBC Championship at Yas Links from November 5-8, 2026. The top 50 will then compete in the DP World Tour Championship at Jumeirah Golf Estates from November 12-15, 2026, where the season champion will be crowned.
The season has featured the Opening Swing, International Swing, International Swing, and Asian Swing, with the Back 9 beginning this week.
Currently, Patrick Reed leads the Race to Dubai Rankings with 2,889 points, closely followed by defending champion Rory McIlroy of Northern Ireland with 2,552 points.
