A man, posing as a customer, allegedly stole the watch, valued at nearly $300,000, from a store in Tokyo, Japan’s capital.

A Swiss luxury watch, worth approximately $290,000, was stolen last week from a store. The suspect fled the store wearing the watch after asking to try it on.

The incident took a surprising turn when the store received a package containing the stolen watch and a handwritten apology note. The watch’s serial number confirmed its theft, according to Japanese media, citing investigative sources. Store management declined to comment, while Tokyo police continued their search for the fugitive suspect.

It is noteworthy that in August this year, four luxury watches worth 200 million yen were also stolen from another store in the same shopping complex, with a reported value of approximately $1.3 million.
