Khanewal DPO Suspends 3 Cops Over Corruption Allegations
KHANEWAL, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 4th Sep, 2026) District Police Officer (DPO) Muhammad Abid has suspended three police officials and ordered for restriction of their movement out of the Police Lines following a complaint alleging corruption.
The suspended officials are Assistant Sub-Inspector Muhammad Azhar and Constable Ali Imran, both posted at Kacha Khue Police Station, and Constable Mujahid Hussain, serving as Naib Court at the District Courts, Khanewal.
The DPO took immediate notice of the complaint and ordered departmental action against the officials. A case has also been registered against all three over their alleged involvement in corrupt practices, while Constable Ali Imran has been taken into custody.
Muhammad Abid said officials involved in corruption brought a bad name to the Police Department and would be subjected to strict accountability. He stated there would be no compromise on corruption or misconduct and directed police personnel to discharge their duties with honesty, integrity, and professionalism.
The DPO further emphasized that strict action would continue against anyone found involved in corrupt practices, reaffirming the department’s commitment to accountability and transparent policing.
