KP CM Orders Probe Into Alleged Abduction, Assault, Murder Of Five-year-old Girl In Haripur
PESHAWAR, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 25th Aug, 2026) Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Muhammad Sohail Afridi has taken notice of the alleged abduction, sexual assault, and murder of a five-year-old girl in Haripur, and directed the formation of a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to conduct a thorough probe into the tragic incident.
Expressing deep grief and condemning the incident, the CM described the alleged assault and killing of the child as extremely distressing and deplorable. He stated that police had arrested three suspects during investigations following the girl’s disappearance, while a fourth suspect was arrested upon their identification.
The girl’s body was subsequently recovered following interrogation of the arrested suspects.
Sohail Afridi directed authorities to ensure a complete and transparent investigation and vowed that all those found involved would be awarded the strictest punishment under the law. He emphasized that heinous crimes against children would not be tolerated under any circumstances and extended his heartfelt condolences and sympathies to the bereaved family.
