KP CM Should Focus On Law And Order Instead Of Politics: Minister Azma

Punjab Minister for Information and Culture Azma Bokhari stated on Friday that Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) is experiencing serious terrorist incidents, yet the province's Chief Minister seems more focused on political activities than law and order. This observation was made in a statement released in Lahore.

She expressed regret over the absence of any provincial government official at the funeral prayers of the victims of a terrorist attack in Kohat. Bokhari urged the KP Chief Minister to prioritize maintaining law and order and strengthening institutions like the Counter Terrorism Department.

The minister noted that while KP might seem distant, terrorist activities are occurring openly. She emphasized the provincial government's responsibility to safeguard citizens' lives and property.

Criticizing political activities, Bokhari mentioned that "Afridi Sahib" is traveling across the country but has achieved nothing. She alleged a silence following NAB's exposure of billions in financial irregularities, implying a focus on securing the release of a major corruption accused. She advised approaching the courts for such matters.

She further accused a political party of pursuing a "politics of disorder" and attempting to create chaos. She questioned the peaceful nature of marches planned by this party, especially with reports of sticks fitted with nails. Bokhari asserted that the state knows how to handle elements disrupting public order.

In contrast, Bokhari highlighted Punjab's progress under Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, who she said is taking practical steps for public relief. She mentioned various projects aimed at providing better services and facilities to citizens, including the promotion of public transport and the distribution of electric buses.

She also discussed efforts to control smog and support farmers, noting that 10,000 super seeders have been provided to farmers. Bokhari mentioned the establishment of a cancer hospital in Multan, ensuring accessible modern treatment for patients.
