KP Govt to Outsource Low-performing Schools

PESHAWAR, (APP – UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 20th Aug, 2026) The provincial government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) is planning to outsource low-performing schools to improve their academic outcomes.

Briefing on Outsourcing Plan

A meeting was held at the Elementary & Secondary education Foundation (ESEF), KP, to discuss the Phase-I outsourcing of low-performing public-sector schools. Qaisar Alam, Managing Director of ESEF, chaired the session.

Attending the meeting were:

  • Habib Ur Rehman, Director Programs
  • Shafqat Ul Mulk, Project Manager (PIU)
  • Muhammad Khalid, Procurement Specialist (PIU)
  • Roman Gul, M&E Specialist
  • Said Zada, Coordinator, Outsourced Schools
  • Members of the Chief Secretary’s Technical Assistance Team.

Phase-I and Future Plans

Shafqat ul Mulk outlined the progress of Phase-I, which aims to operationalize 445 schools. He also presented a roadmap for Phase II, targeting an additional 1,500 schools.
