KP Peace Committee Reaffirms Strong Resolve Against Terrorism
UrduPoint (August 18, 2026) – The Provincial Aman Paigam (peace message) Committee of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has expressed its deep concern over the rising terrorism and unrest in the province. In a crucial meeting, the committee vowed to eradicate terrorism from KP.
Maulana Muhammad Tayyab Qureshi, head and coordinator of the committee, addressed the media following the introductory session. He emphasized national unity as a means to firmly confront the enemies of Pakistan. The primary objective, he stated, is to unite people from all backgrounds and ideologies on a shared platform.
Qureshi highlighted the sacrifices made for Pakistan’s creation, founded on the Two-Nation Theory. He declared that attacks on state institutions, security forces, and citizens are haram (forbidden in Islam) and that this is the consensus among leading Islamic scholars. No one will be permitted to target Pakistan, he asserted, emphasizing that terrorism across the country is strictly prohibited in Islam.
The committee plans to promote peace and interfaith harmony through mosques, religious seminaries (madrasas), churches, and places of worship for minority communities. Maulana Tayyab Qureshi mentioned that despite the enemy’s attempts to destabilize Pakistan on various fronts, their efforts have been in vain. The focus will be on promoting a state narrative centered around peace and love while joining hands with security forces in the battle against terrorism.
He expressed gratitude to Chief Minister Sohail Afridi and the provincial government for establishing the committee and entrusting them with this responsibility. The meeting was attended by several prominent religious leaders, including Maulana Obaid ur Rehman, Maulana Muhammad Shoaib, and Allama Nazir Hussain.
