KP Secretary Health Chairs Important Meeting Of HPV Vaccination Steering Committee

An important meeting of the Steering Committee regarding Human Papilloma Virus (HPV) Vaccination for the prevention of cervical cancer in the province was held under the chairmanship of Secretary Health Department Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Fayyaz Ali Shah.
The meeting reviewed preparations for upcoming HPV vaccination, ongoing activities, field-level arrangements, and the future action plan. The Director General Health Services briefed attendees on the program's progress and preparations.
Fayyaz Ali Shah directed concerned institutions to complete all vaccination-related arrangements within the stipulated time, ensuring effective coordination among stakeholders. He emphasized that strengthening preventive health facilities is a top government priority and that timely and effective measures are necessary to protect girls from cervical cancer through HPV vaccination.
The Secretary of Health stressed creating awareness about HPV vaccination among parents, students, and the public to dispel misconceptions. He also instructed on ensuring an effective system for vaccine availability, manpower, logistics, awareness activities, field monitoring, and reporting.
Representatives from the Health Department, Education Department, Information Department, PSRA, PPA, UNICEF, and WHO, among other relevant institutions, attended the meeting.
Fayyaz Ali Shah expressed his commitment to further strengthening the province's preventive health system, utilizing all available resources to protect girls from preventable diseases.
