Lahore Airport To Get International Travelers Vaccination Centre
Lahore Airport will soon have an International Travelers Vaccination Centre to facilitate passengers needing vaccinations before traveling abroad. This initiative is part of the Federal government's plan to make vaccination mandatory for international travelers.
According to NADRA sources in Lahore, dedicated counters will be established at the airport to streamline the vaccination and documentation process. The system is expected to offer digital vaccination certificates covering diseases like influenza, meningitis, and polio. These certificates will provide verifiable proof of vaccination status for travelers when required by destination countries.
NADRA already provides certificates for polio, yellow fever, and COVID-19, leveraging its digital identity infrastructure. Under the new system, vaccination records will be linked to citizens' National Identity Card (CNIC) numbers, creating a centralized digital framework for managing immunisation data.
This integration aims to:
- Reduce reliance on paper certificates.
- Simplify pre-travel health requirements at the airport.
- Strengthen Pakistan’s digital health and identity infrastructure.
