A local Lahore court has ordered police to produce an Azerbaijani foreign woman before the relevant area magistrate on September 28th to record her final statement in an alleged rape case in the upscale Defence C area.

According to details, a hearing in the alleged gang-rape case was held before Duty Magistrate Iram Yousaf at Lahore’s Cantt Kachehri. Investigators presented the victim and requested to record her formal statement under Section 164 of the Code of Criminal Procedure.

The court, considering the sensitivity of the matter, noted that September 27th was a public holiday, and no legal hearings or statements could be conducted on holidays. It instructed the investigating officer to produce the woman before the relevant magistrate on the 28th.

The court also issued strict directions to police for the swift arrest of all nominated and absconding suspects. It ordered them to serve formal notices to the suspects as per law and bring them before the court after completing identification procedures.

It is worth noting that the foreign woman had registered a case at Defence C Police Station over the alleged incident. Police later recovered the suspects’ vehicle and detained three facilitators, while their main suspects remain at large.
