Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Operations Faisal Kamran has warned police officers against negligence in crime prevention and incorrect application of legal provisions while registering cases. He made it clear that Station House Officers (SHOs) failing to perform their duties would not be allowed to remain in their positions.
This warning came during a meeting on crime prevention held in Saddar Division, attended by SSP Operations, SP Saddar, circle officers, SHOs, and officers in charge of police outposts.
The DIG issued the following directives:
- Improve police performance and ensure prompt redressal of public grievances.
- Maintain transparency in the registration of criminal cases.
- Take effective measures to control motorcycle theft incidents in Chung and Nawab Town, ensuring the protection of citizens' lives and property.
- Improve response time to emergency calls in Sundar, Sattukatla, and Chuhang.
- Ensure compliance with the Station Investigation and Prosecution System (SIPS) in Mustafa Town.
- Tackle pickpockets and individuals involved in mobile phone theft. Direct SHOs to personally visit the scene of incidents, assess the situation, and take appropriate legal action.
- Keep all tablets and electronic equipment at police stations in working condition for smooth routine operations.
- Enforce strict registration requirements for private employees and tenants.
The DIG emphasized that negligence in crime prevention, conducting operations for mere appearances, and failure to adhere to legal provisions in criminal cases would not be tolerated.
