Large Quantity Of Narcotics Recovered, Two Arrested In Jamrud Operation
PESHAWAR, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 3rd Sep, 2026) The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Excise, Taxation and Narcotics Control Department on Thursday recovered a large quantity of narcotics and arrested two alleged drug dealers during an operation in Jamrud, Wazir Dhand and adjoining areas.
This operation was carried out as part of the department’s intensified campaign against narcotics under the provincial government’s zero-tolerance policy and directives of Provincial Minister for Excise Syed Fakhar Jehan.
According to the department, teams comprising Excise and Taxation Officer (Counter Narcotics Operations) Dr Majid Khan, In-charge Excise Intelligence Bureau Aqif Nawaz Khan, SHO Khyber Ali Jan Khan, SHO Ruidad Khan, Additional In-charge EIB Waheed Akbar Khan and other officials conducted raids against suspected drug traffickers.
The operation resulted in the seizure of:
- More than 1,000 grams of ice (crystal methamphetamine) along with ice tokens
- 6,000 grams of hashish
- 1,500 grams of opium
- 50 grams of heroin
- 3,000 intoxicating pills
- Two bottles of liquor
Two alleged drug peddlers were taken into custody and legal proceedings have been initiated against them.
The Excise Department stated that operations against drug traffickers and smugglers would continue with greater intensity, particularly to curb the distribution of ice and heroin, and protect communities from the menace of narcotics.
