LDA Seals 101 Properties, Demolishes Two Illegal Commercial Structures
Lahore Development Authority Intensifies Crackdown on Illegal Structures
LAHORE, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 24th Aug, 2026) The Lahore Development Authority (LDA) Town Planning Wing has stepped up its efforts against illegal commercial buildings and properties failing to pay fees, razing two structures and sealing 101 properties across various areas of the city.
This operation was initiated based on the directives of LDA Director General Tahir Farooq, who emphasized continuous action against illegal commercial entities and fee defaulters.
LDA teams conducted raids in:
- Gajjumatta
- Attari Saroba
- Gulberg
- Faisal Town
- Canal Road
- Samanabad
- GT Road
- Allama Iqbal Town
During the operations, the teams:
- Demolated an under-construction illegal building near the Gajjumatta Metrobus Station.
- Knocked down another illegal structure located near Central Park Housing Scheme Phase-II.
- Sealed properties in Attari Saroba for illegal commercial use.
- Sealed 28 properties in Gulberg and Faisal Town for violating commercial regulations.
- Sealed 60 properties along Canal Road, Samanabad, and GT Road due to illegal commercial activities and unpaid fees.
- Seized 12 properties in Allama Iqbal Town.
The sealed properties comprised a range of establishments, including:
- Private schools
- Clinics
- Beauty salons
- Cafes
- Restaurants
- Food points
- Grocery stores
- Hardware stores
- Pharmacies
- Shops
- Showrooms
- Offices
The operation was supervised by Chief Town Planner Asad-uz-Zaman and Chief Town Planner-II Azhar Ali.
