Legislative Business and Privatization Committee Meets

Punjab Finance Minister Mujtaba Shuja-ur-Rehman chaired the 39th meeting of the Cabinet Standing Committee on Legislative Business and Privatization here at Darbar Hall, Punjab Civil Secretariat on Wednesday. Provincial Minister for Communications and Works Sohaib Ahmed Bharth, secretaries, and senior officers of relevant departments attended.

The meeting considered a 12-point agenda covering legal, administrative, and development-related matters. The agenda included:

  • Reconstitution of Implementation Committees for Katchi Abadis and nomination of local representatives
  • Financial matters related to the Apni Chhat Apna Ghar Programme
  • Extension of the stipulated period for establishment and expansion of cement plants
  • Approval of the draft Punjab Women Hostels Authority Rules 2026 under the Punjab Women Hostels Authority Act, 2023

The committee approved seven agenda items, emphasizing the need for transparency in development projects and adherence to legal requirements.

Mujtaba Shuja-ur-Rehman highlighted the Apni Chhat Apna Ghar Programme as a flagship Punjab Government initiative benefiting millions of households. He directed an organized and effective management of financial aspects to ensure the program's successful implementation.
