LESCO Chief Claims 100% Recovery, No Overbilling – UrduPoint

Electric Supply Company (LESCO) Chief Executive Officer, Engineer Muhammad Ramzan Butt, stated on Tuesday that LESCO currently enjoys 100% recovery rates with zero overbilling. This claim was made during his visit to the Lahore Press Club, where he was welcomed by President Arshad Ansari.
During the discussion, focused on LESCO’s performance, recovery, overbilling, and electricity supply issues to consumers, Butt revealed that recovery efforts have begun on Rs. 93 billion in ten-year-old arrears, attributed to withholding by prominent industrialists.
He added that:
- Transformers damaged due to overloading are being replaced.
- Officers will be held accountable for power outages lasting more than four to five hours.
- Private repairs of transformers are strictly banned, with effective measures in place to enhance consumer electricity supply.
