LHC Orders Release Of Couple, Four Children Allegedly Held By Landowner

LAHORE, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 25th Aug, 2026) The Lahore High Court (LHC) on Tuesday ordered the release of six people, including a couple and their four minor children, who were recovered from illegal confinement of a landowner.

Justice Ghulam Sarwar Nihung heard a petition filed by citizen Muhammad Naveed seeking the recovery of his relatives from the alleged illegal custody of landowner Faiz Ahmed.

The petitioner’s counsel told the court that his relatives had allegedly been kept in illegal confinement for the past six years. He further alleged that the landowner was subjecting the workers to forced labour, paying Rs30,000 to the man and Rs20,000 to his wife as wages.

However, the landowner’s counsel rejected the allegations, arguing that the workers had received an advance payment of Rs300,000 and were working voluntarily under an agreement. He denied that they were being subjected to forced labour.

After hearing arguments from both sides, the court ordered the release of the recovered six individuals, including the couple and their four minor children.
