BBC Sport: Luke Littler could boycott Dutch events over booing
World champion Luke Littler has threatened to stop playing in the Netherlands after facing hostile crowds and boos at the World Series of Darts Finals in Amsterdam.
The referee intervened during his match against Nathan Aspinall, warning the crowd about their behaviour before play resumed. This followed similar treatment from Dutch fans during his previous win against Danny Noppert.
Littler has previously boycotted European Tour events in Germany due to a similar reception. He stated, "If the Dutch stay like this, then I'm not going to do any Euro tours over there. There's just no point in me travelling... whilst I'm getting booed."
The 19-year-old added, "I've done nothing [after wins], I've just walked off stage and not thanked anyone. There's no point thanking everyone when they are booing me."
Similar incidents occurred during his victory over Rob Cross at the PDC World Championship in December. Littler remained unbothered by the boos, stating "You guys pay for tickets and you pay for my prize so thanks for booing me."
