Reading Festival: Lola Young's Surprise Return to the Stage
BBC News reports on Lola Young's unexpected performance at Reading Festival on its final day. The singer teased her fans on Instagram, saying, "I am going to be performing so see you... at the Grid stage."
Festival Surprises and Returns
Young's set included hits like "Messy" and "One Thing," marking a significant return to the spotlight after a period of absence. In 2025, she had to pull out of both Reading and another festival due to scheduling conflicts and health issues, including an on-stage collapse in September of that year.
A Journey Towards Recovery
After addressing her drug dependency and taking time for personal growth, Young has been gradually returning to live performances. She started with a small run of UK shows in March, expressing gratitude for being back on stage while also emphasizing the need for caution.
Festival Line-ups and Wrap-up
Reading Festival concluded on Sunday with appearances from Chase & Status and Florence + The Machine, among others. Meanwhile, the Leeds festival site also wrapped up after performances by Raye and Dave.
