ISLAMABAD, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 22nd Sep, 2026) | Islamabad
Traffic Police (ITP) on Tuesday advised motorists to avoid travelling on the Peshawar Motorway (M-1) as it will be closed to all types of traffic from 11:00 pm on Wednesday, September 23, until further orders.
An ITP official told APP that commuters from Islamabad and Rawalpindi, as well as other districts, should avoid travelling towards the M-1 and postpone unnecessary journeys. In contrast, the M-2 Motorway (Islamabad-Lahore) would remain open to all types of traffic.
Motorists were advised to plan their journeys accordingly and strictly follow directions issued by traffic police. ITP urged citizens to cooperate with traffic personnel during this period to prevent inconvenience and congestion.
