The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) issued notices to the Lahore Development Authority (LDA) regarding dust pollution control. The EPA has emphasized the strict implementation of prescribed Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for dust control at construction sites.
Consequences of Non-Compliance
- Fines will be imposed on contractors who violate these SOPs.
- The spread of dust and dirt from construction sites onto roads or into residential areas is strictly prohibited.
Required Measures
- Installation of mist sprinkler systems at construction sites is mandatory.
- Erecting a screen at least 10 feet high around construction sites is required.
- Vehicles transporting soil and debris must be driven at low speeds.
