Major Sabotage Plot Foiled in Bannu
PESHAWAR, (APP – UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 18th Aug, 2026) Police in Bannu district on Tuesday foiled a major sabotage attempt after recovering and safely defusing suspected explosive material near the University of Science and Technology in Township.
Police Action
Police said following information about suspected material, Township Police Station SHO Javed Rasool Khan, along with a team, reached the site and secured the area. They restricted public movement as a precaution. The Bomb Disposal Unit arrived and successfully neutralized the explosives, preventing potential harm to Township and nearby areas.
Investigation and Legal Action
An investigation is underway, and legal proceedings have begun to identify and apprehend those involved in the alleged sabotage attempt.
