Makkah Agreement Not Against Any Country: PM
UNITED NATIONS, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 26th Sep, 2026) Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Friday stated that the alliance among Saudi Arabia, Türkiye and Pakistan under the historic Makkah Joint Defence Agreement was not directed against any nation, but represented a collective commitment to defense, stability, and peace in the region.
He also strongly condemned the recent attacks by the Houthis against the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
"The attempted drone attack on the holy city of Makkah Al-Mukarramah has outraged Muslims across the globe," he said.
The Prime Minister emphasized that any threat to the safety and sanctity of the Haramain Sharifain was a red line that must never be crossed.
"No Muslim can even dare to think of committing such a heinous act. Pakistan stands in complete solidarity with the brotherly people of Saudi Arabia, as we always have throughout our history," he added.
