Malakand Students Pledge to Cut Plastic Use and Support Climate Action

Students from two schools in Malakand made a commitment to:

  • Avoid single-use plastics
  • Conserve electricity
  • Participate in tree plantation activities

This pledge was made during a District Youth Office seminar that focused on climate change, its impacts, local environmental challenges, energy conservation, and tree plantation. The event was organised in collaboration with the district administration and following directives from the federal government and KP governor.

Attended by students from Government Higher Secondary School Alah Dhand Dheri and Government High School No. 1 Alah Dhand Dheri, the seminar included a question-and-answer session where students discussed local environmental issues and potential solutions.

Speakers highlighted the local and global impacts of climate change, emerging challenges, and sustainable solutions. At the conclusion, certificates were distributed to students, and shields and gifts were presented to the guests.
