Man Arrested For Assaulting and Shaving Wife’s Head

Sialkot, (APP – UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 23rd Aug, 2026) A man was arrested and a case was registered against him after he allegedly subjected his wife to severe violence and forcibly shaved her head following a domestic dispute within the jurisdiction of the Sadar Daska Police Station.

According to a spokesperson, the victim contacted the Virtual Women Police Station through the emergency helpline 15, reporting that her husband had assaulted her during an altercation and forcibly cut her hair with scissors before shaving her head.

Taking serious notice of the incident, District Police Officer (DPO) Captain (Retd.) Dost Muhammad ordered immediate legal action. Consequently, the police registered a formal case based on the woman’s complaint and promptly arrested the accused.

DPO Dost Muhammad stated that violence against women, intimidation, humiliation, and any act violating their dignity would not be tolerated under any circumstances. He emphasized that domestic disputes do not give anyone the right to subject a wife or any woman to coercion, physical abuse, or humiliation.

The DPO further highlighted that, in line with the Punjab government’s vision for the protection of women, Sialkot Police has introduced several key initiatives. These include the Virtual Women Police Station, Victim Support Officer, Tahaffuz Centre, Women Safety App, and Pink mobile Police Station, which aim to ensure prompt assistance to women facing danger or difficulties.

The police has urged women and other citizens facing domestic violence or any form of abuse to immediately contact the 15 helpline or the Virtual Women Police Station for swift assistance. The spokesperson reiterated that the Police remains fully committed to protecting the dignity, lives, safety, and fundamental rights of women across the district.
