Man Convicted For Killing Daughter
LAHORE, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 21st Sep, 2026) A sessions court on Monday sentenced a man to death for murdering his daughter in the North Cantonment area, while awarding a two-year prison term to his son-in-law in the same case.
Court Rulings:
Additional District and Sessions Judge Afzal Ahmad Saqib convicted accused Barkat Masih after finding him guilty of the murder and sentenced him to death along with a fine of Rs50,000. The court also sentenced his son-in-law, Yaqoob Masih, to two years in prison and imposed a fine of Rs20,000.
During the trial, counsel for the complainant, Fouzia, Advocate Hafiz Israrul Haq, recorded the statements of 13 prosecution witnesses. After examining the evidence and hearing arguments, the court found the accused guilty and handed down the sentences.
Case Background:
North Cantonment police had submitted the challan in the case before the court in 2025.
