Man Held For Posing As Senior Govt Official
Lahore police have arrested a man for allegedly posing as a lawyer and senior government official, attempting to gain access to official records and security arrangements. This incident was reported on September 30, 2026, by APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News.
The Incident
The suspect, identified as Saeed, visited the Punjab Home Department while impersonating a lawyer claiming to be a Deputy Prosecutor General and an officer of a sensitive institution. He also demanded access to government records and security arrangements, according to a spokesperson for the DIG Operations.
Police initiated an inquiry and subsequently revealed that Saeed was allegedly impersonating government officials. Several fake cards from various government institutions were recovered from his possession.
Legal Action
A case has been registered against Saeed at Islampura police station under fraud, forgery, and impersonation of a government officer-related sections. Further investigation is underway to establish his true identity and the origin and use of the fake official cards.
