Man Sentenced To Life For Smuggling 12kg Hashish In Ambulance

(APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 4th Sep, 2026) An Anti-Narcotics Court in PESHAWAR on Friday sentenced a man to life imprisonment and fined him Rs500,000 for attempting to smuggle 12 kilograms of hashish in an ambulance.
Judge Sumbul Naseer announced the verdict in the case and also ordered the confiscation of the ambulance used for transporting the contraband.
According to the prosecution, the Anti-Narcotics Force intercepted the ambulance near a private restaurant on Ring Road here on January 8, 2025. The vehicle was being driven by accused Arif Khan, a resident of Bannu.
A search of the ambulance led to the recovery of 10 packets containing hashish, concealed in the vehicle’s roof and hidden compartments.
In its 21-page written judgment, the court held that the prosecution had established the accused’s involvement through the recovery memo, forensic laboratory report, and other evidence available on record.
The court consequently awarded the accused life imprisonment, imposed a fine of Rs500,000, and ordered the forfeiture of the ambulance used in the drug-smuggling attempt.
