Martinez issues scathing attack on Man Utd board

Lisandro Martinez attacks Manchester United board after Atletico Madrid defeat

BBC Sport reports that Manchester United defender Lisandro Martinez has launched a scathing attack on the club's hierarchy, blaming them for the team's recent struggles.

Martinez, speaking to Amazon Prime, expressed his disappointment with the lack of reinforcement following United's return to the Champions League. He stated, "We did a fantastic season last season and now we expect more from the top, more players to compete."

The defeat by Atletico Madrid marked United's fifth game without a win, with their most recent victory coming against Sabah FK in September. Martinez placed the blame not solely on the coach or players, but also on the club's technical director, Jason Wilcox.

He added, "I have to be honest, as players we have to do more but it is also important when you make a strong squad to be ready for this kind of night."

These remarks echo similar concerns raised by Cristian Romero, who criticized Tottenham's board last season.

Martinez, who has one year left on his United contract, has not yet agreed an extension, and his comments could have implications for the club's future.
