Martyred Police Driver Laid to Rest After Official Honors
PESHAWAR, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - September 01, 2026) Funeral prayers for martyred police driver Wajid Khan were offered at police lines Karak with full state honors.
Regional Police Officer (RPO) Kohat Region, Irfan Tariq, along with Commissioner Moatasim Billah, district police officer Imran Khan, deputy commissioner Asad Sarwar, and other senior officials attended the funeral. A smartly turned-out police contingent presented a guard of honor to the martyred officer.
Irfan Tariq and Commissioner Moatasim laid floral wreaths on the coffin, paying tribute to the fallen policeman. They also met with Wajid Khan's bereaved family and expressed their condolences, stating that his sacrifice would not be in vain.
Following the funeral, the body was transported to Wajid Khan's native area for burial with full honor and official protocol.
Police driver Wajid Khan was martyred after sustaining critical injuries in an improvised explosive device (IED) blast targeting a police mobile near a dam in Ghoul Banda, an outlying area of Khurram police station.
Later, RPO Kohat Region Irfan Tariq and Commissioner Moatasim Billah visited a hospital to inquire about the condition of injured police personnel, praising their courage and morale.
