Meeting Held in Chiniot to Ensure Safe Sugarcane Transportation During Crushing Season
CHINIOT, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 3rd Sep, 2026) An important meeting was held with representatives of farmers' associations under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner Ayesha Rizwan and DPO Dr. Naveed Atif regarding the transportation of sugarcane, improving traffic systems, and preventing accidents during the sugarcane crushing season.
Additional Deputy Commissioner General Wasiq Abbas Haral, DSP Traffic, Secretary DRTA, representatives of farmers' organizations, and other concerned officers attended. The participants reviewed challenges faced during sugarcane transportation and proposed measures for better traffic management.
Deputy Commissioner Ayesha Rizwan directed that complete and effective implementation of traffic rules should be ensured during the transportation of sugarcane. She emphasized the need for proper lighting, reflectors, and safety precautions for tractor trolleys and other sugarcane-laden vehicles to prevent accidents and maintain traffic flow.
DPO Dr. Naveed Atif stated that strict action would be taken against violations of traffic rules during the sugarcane crushing season. He added that farmers and those involved in sugarcane transportation should also be educated on traffic rules and safety measures, and these regulations must be strictly enforced.
The meeting agreed to take effective steps through mutual cooperation to address traffic issues faced by citizens during sugarcane transportation. The administration reaffirmed its commitment to maintaining traffic flow and preventing accidents during the season.
