Punjab Minister for Housing and Urban Development Bilal Yasin, accompanied by TEPA Chief Engineer, on Monday visited the Data Darbar and Bhatti Chowk underpasses and reviewed the ongoing development and construction work at both sites.

The TEPA Chief Engineer briefed the provincial minister on the progress of the projects, ongoing construction activities, traffic management arrangements, and the stages of completion. He was also apprised of the facilities planned for citizens upon completion of the projects.

Bilal Yasin directed that special attention be paid to ensuring smooth traffic flow around the underpasses and effective management of alternative routes during construction. He emphasized that the convenience of pedestrians, local residents, and business owners must be kept in view throughout the construction process.

The minister stated that modern infrastructure is essential for improving traffic flow and saving citizens’ valuable time. He noted that Data Darbar and Bhatti Chowk are among Lahore’s busiest and most important locations, making effective traffic management and infrastructure development particularly crucial. He cautioned against delays in public-oriented projects and directed the concerned authorities to accelerate work further.

Bilal Yasin expressed that completion of these projects would enhance traffic flow, reduce travel time, and provide greater commuting convenience to citizens. He added that the Punjab government is upgrading Lahore’s roads, underpasses, and urban infrastructure according to modern requirements.
