Provincial Minister for Ushr and Zakat Rana Munawar Ghous Khan on Sunday paid glowing tribute to the martyrs and ghazis of Pakistan on Defence Day.
He stated that this occasion served as a reminder to renew the nation’s commitment to making any sacrifice for the country’s freedom, sovereignty, and security.
Talking to APP in an interview, the minister highlighted:
- September 6 holds an unforgettable place in Pakistan's history, symbolizing national unity and the exemplary courage and valour of the armed forces.
- During the 1965 war, the Pakistan Army, Navy, and Air Force demonstrated strength not just with weapons but also with faith and determination.
- The armed forces faced a larger enemy on all fronts, making the September War an enduring testament to bravery, courage, and sacrifice.
Rana Munawar Ghous Khan emphasized:
- The 1965 war and recent events like "Marka-e-Haq" exemplify the unwavering resolve and resilience of the Pakistani nation and armed forces.
- The country needs the same spirit of national unity and solidarity today as it did during the 1965 war.
He offered prayers for the elevation of the martyrs' ranks and expressed profound gratitude to their families for their supreme sacrifices in service of the motherland.
