Mirpur AJK Bans Drone and Quadcopter Use, Sale Under Section 144
The district administration of Mirpur has imposed a ban on the use, flying, purchase, and sale of drones and quadcopters across the district under Section 144 of the Code of Criminal Procedure to maintain law and order and strengthen security arrangements.
According to an order issued by District Magistrate Mirpur, Chaudhry Sajid Aslam, on Monday, the restriction is in response to public safety and security concerns. The administration noted that unauthorized use of drones and quadcopters could pose potential threats to sensitive locations and adversely affect law and order.
No individual or organization will be permitted to operate, fly, purchase, or sell any type of drone or quadcopter within the territorial limits of Mirpur district under this order. The restrictions remain in place as part of enhanced security measures.
Violators will face legal action under Section 188 of the Azad Jammu and Kashmir Penal Code, 1860. This measure is a precautionary step to ensure effective security arrangements and safeguard public safety across the district.
