Mirpur Student Champions Climate Action Through Solar-powered Cooling Initiative

Mirpur's Ali Abbas Arshad, a young research scholar and A-Level student, is leading the charge against climate change through his initiative SolarTune. Founded four years ago, SolarTune focuses on developing affordable, solar-powered cooling solutions for individuals facing extreme heat conditions.

According to details, SolarTune has assembled 20 young innovators and volunteers to create accessible cooling technologies. They've already distributed over 150 solar-powered cooling caps to workers in high-temperature environments, providing practical support to vulnerable communities.

Beyond technology, SolarTune conducts seminars, workshops, and community outreach programs to raise awareness about climate change and its impacts. Their network of youth ambassadors in Thailand and Uzbekistan has even extended their reach internationally. Ali has represented Pakistan as a youth speaker at conferences in Thailand and Morocco, advocating for community-based climate solutions and youth engagement.

Through SolarTune, Ali Abbas Arshad is showcasing how youth-led innovation can address local environmental challenges. His initiative highlights the potential of locally developed, affordable technologies to help communities adapt to rising temperatures while promoting environmental sustainability and public awareness.
