Missing Aabpara Boy Traced to Karachi, Reunited With Parents

On August 25, 2026, Islamabad police announced the successful tracing and reunion of a missing 14-year-old boy from Aabpara. Awais, then aged 13 or 14, had gone missing in 2024, working as a car washer in Aabpara Market.
According to Aabpara SHO Zulfiqar Ali, the boy's mother initially reported him missing to the police, but despite their efforts, he could not be located. Recently, after 10 days, the woman returned with relatives and informed the police that Awais had still not been found.
The police initiated a fresh investigation, utilizing technical resources to retrace his steps from his home to Karachi, where he was eventually traced. SP Dr Ayaz oversaw the operation, which led to Awais' safe return to Islamabad.
Awais stated in his confession that he had left on his own and not been kidnapped. He recalled leaving Aabpara Market one day, with no contact details, and boarding a train to Karachi where he lived for the past two-and-a-half years.
A relative of the boy expressed gratitude to SP, SHO, and Islamabad police for their role in finding Awais. The boy himself thanked the police for reuniting him with his family.
SHO Zulfiqar Ali emphasized the Islamabad police's commitment to serving citizens around the clock.
