Pakistan’s towering fast bowler Mohammad Irfan shared an intriguing story from a Pakistan-India match on a recent podcast.
The 44-year-old recalled an incident when he was bowling against India. After delivering a ball, he turned back towards his run-up. Misbah approached him and advised, “Don’t turn back immediately after bowling; stare at them.”
Irfan revealed that Yuvraj Singh was batting at the time. He had bowled a wide but still advanced and started staring at Singh.
According to Irfan, Yuvraj exclaimed to Shoaib Malik, “Ask him to calm down. We are already scared, and now he is staring even after bowling a wide.”
This anecdote highlights the intense atmosphere and psychological warfare that goes on during high-pressure cricket matches.
