(PESHAWAR, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 6th Sep, 2026)) The non-governmental organization MRDO, with financial support from Muslim Charity UK, has donated three modern incubators to the Children’s Nursery Ward of District Central Hospital, Saidu Sharif, Swat. This donation brings the total number of incubators in the ward to seven.
The initiative aims to improve neonatal care for premature and low-birth-weight babies by providing specialized care and temperature regulation.
MRDO Programme Manager Sikandar Khan and Project Coordinator Junaid Khan formally handed over the incubators to the hospital’s DMS, Dr Farooq, and Dr Sajjad.
Dr Farooq expressed gratitude for MRDO and Muslim Charity UK's contribution, stating that the additional equipment would enhance the nursery ward’s capacity and ensure timely treatment and better care for newborns. He noted that around 70 children requiring incubator support visit the hospital daily, placing a significant strain on existing facilities. The new incubators will help address this growing demand.
Dr Farooq also expressed hope that Muslim Charity UK would continue supporting the hospital by providing more incubators and other essential medical equipment in the future.
This initiative was welcomed by civil society and social circles, who called for further strengthening of neonatal facilities at the hospital, including additional incubators, patient monitors, and other essential equipment to cater to newborns from remote areas.
