Netanyahu Has Continued Mass Killing in the Region: Spanish PM
Spain has already taken several measures, including sanctions against Israel, in response to the situation in Gaza and is considering further steps, Pedro Sánchez told the UN General Assembly.
NEW YORK, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 24th Sep, 2026) Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez strongly criticized Israel’s ongoing military operations in Gaza, stating that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has continued mass killing in the region.
Addressing the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly, Sánchez mentioned that Spain had already taken several actions, such as sanctions against Israel, due to the Gaza situation and was contemplating additional measures.
The Spanish prime minister has been a vocal critic of Israeli policies regarding the Gaza war in recent months. Previously, the Spanish government had also announced restrictions on arms exports to Israel and the suspension of certain military cooperation.
Sánchez discussed Gaza and the broader Middle East situation with UN Secretary-General António Guterres. According to the Spanish prime minister's office, both leaders emphasized the need for enhanced international cooperation in the context of ongoing conflicts.
