Night Cleaning Shift Introduced in Markets
SARGODHA, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 22nd Oct, 2026) To enhance urban hygiene and create a cleaner environment for shoppers and traders, a dedicated night-time cleaning shift has been rolled out in commercial centers and markets across Sargodha under the Suthra Punjab program.
The initiative was launched on the directives of Deputy Commissioner Hussain Ahmad Raza Chaudhry.
Additional Deputy Commissioner (Municipal Services) Chaudhry Muhammad Akmal stated that the move aims to maintain pristine markets and provide citizens with a pleasant shopping experience. He explained that the night shift allows sanitation crews to effectively clear waste accumulated during the day, ensuring clean surroundings by the time businesses open the following morning.
According to Akmal, the program spares shopkeepers from waiting until daytime for waste removal, thereby upholding high hygiene standards during business hours. He added that conducting operations at night also overcomes the congestion and logistical challenges sanitation staff previously faced during peak daytime hours and heavy market traffic.
Underlining the broader vision of the program, Akmal noted that Suthra Punjab teams will conduct regular cleaning cycles at night, making overall sanitation arrangements more efficient. He assured that further measures will be implemented as per the deputy commissioner's instructions to ensure lasting cleanliness and a healthy environment for Sargodha residents.
