Nine Horses Compete for Title of UAE President’s Cup for Purebred Arabian Horses in Istanbul

ABU DHABI, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News / WAM - 05th Sep, 2026): Veliefendi Racecourse in Istanbul, Republic of Türkiye will host the twelfth leg of the UAE President’s Cup for Purebred Arabian Horses tomorrow, Sunday, September 6, 2026, as part of the 33rd edition's calendar. Nine horses representing elite Turkish and European studs will compete.
The series, with the support of the wise leadership, aims to elevate the status of the Purebred Arabian horse and strengthen its presence on international racecourses. It also encourages owners and breeders to acquire and breed Arabian horses, contributing to the development of the racing industry worldwide.
This leg marks the third consecutive season in Istanbul, following its successful integration into the global series since 2024.
The race, run over 1,600 metres on turf, is classified as Group 3 and open to Purebred Arabian horses aged three years and above. The prize purse stands at €250,000.
Molfit, led by Wathnan Racing, trained by François Rohaut, and ridden by Faleh Nasser Bughenaim, is a strong contender. Allie Saint Lon, owned by Omar Esmil Sh Ghrghar, trained by Elisabeth Bernard Jean-François, and ridden by Adel Al Qeyadi, is another notable participant.
Other horses vying for the title include Azimli, Kahraman Oglu, Zincir Koparan, Aslan Hatip, Gözpınarı, Kral Sultan, and Öztatmar.
Matar Suhail Al Yabhouni Al Dhaheri, Chairman of the Higher Organising Committee of the UAE President’s Cup for Purebred Arabian Horses, expressed satisfaction with the series' global reach, attributed to the wise leadership's support. He emphasized the event's role in promoting the Purebred Arabian horse and encouraging owners and breeders.
